THE CRAFT OF FRAMING

A Frame Is Built,
Not Simply Chosen.

A well-made frame is a combination of proportion, material knowledge and precision. The profile must suit the artwork. The mitres must meet cleanly. The glazing, mount and backing must work together as a protective system.

Our approach puts the construction of the frame at the centre of the service — from the first measurement to the final inspection.

BUILT WITH PURPOSE

Precision in Every Corner.

Good framing should feel effortless when finished. That only happens when every hidden detail is considered before assembly begins.

01

Accurate Cutting

Profiles are measured and cut precisely so the finished frame remains square, balanced and structurally clean.

02

Tight Mitre Joints

Corner alignment is one of the clearest signs of craftsmanship. Joints are prepared for strength and visual continuity.

03

Material Matching

Wood grain, finish, mount tone, depth and glazing are considered as one complete framing system.

04

Final Inspection

Before release, the completed frame is checked for alignment, glazing cleanliness, backing, hardware and finish quality.

INSIDE THE WORKSHOP

Where the Artwork Becomes a Finished Piece.

The workshop is where design decisions become physical details: mouldings are cut, corners joined, mounts prepared, glazing cleaned, backing sealed and every frame fitted by hand.

FROM RAW MOULDING TO FINISHED FRAME

Six Steps. One Purpose.

01

Consult & Measure

We assess the artwork, dimensions, condition and how the finished piece will live in the space.

02

Select the Moulding

Wood, aluminium, gilded and contemporary profiles are paired with the artwork rather than chosen in isolation.

03

Cut & Join

Each length is cut precisely and joined to create tight, clean mitres and a structurally sound frame.

04

Mount & Protect

Conservation mountboard, spacers, archival backing and specialist glazing are selected to protect the piece.

05

Fit & Finish

The artwork is carefully fitted, sealed and inspected before final hanging hardware is installed.

06

Install

The completed frame is prepared for collection or professional installation in your home, gallery or project.

THE ANATOMY OF A FRAME

Protection Is Built in Layers.

The visible moulding is only one part of the frame. Conservation framing depends on what sits between the artwork and the environment around it.

01Frame moulding

Selected for proportion, finish, strength and visual relationship to the artwork.

02Specialist glazing

Clear, anti-reflective or UV-protective options according to the piece and environment.

03Conservation mount

Creates visual breathing room while helping separate the artwork from the glazing.

04Archival backing

Completes the protective enclosure and supports long-term preservation.

MUSEUM GRADE FRAMING

Protect the Artwork,
Not Just the Edges.

UV Protective Glazing

Helps reduce exposure to damaging ultraviolet light while maintaining a clear view of the artwork.

Acid-Free Mounting

Conservation-grade mountboard and backing help reduce contact with materials that may cause deterioration over time.

Safe Spacing

Mounts and spacers help prevent sensitive artwork from sitting directly against the glazing.

Reversible Approach

Where appropriate, mounting methods are selected with future removal and preservation in mind.

DETAIL MATTERS

The Difference Is in the Finish.

Clean mitres, controlled spacing, carefully selected profiles and a properly sealed back are small details individually. Together, they are what make a frame feel professionally made.

FRAMING WORK

From Workshop to Wall.

Finished projects are shown only after the craft, because the final presentation begins with everything that happened in the workshop first.
